symbiosis | a sister’s psychogeographical grief | a poetry collection | available now

My brother Emi took his own life without a word on July 7th, 2020.

I will not hold my grief and trauma in my body and soul without language.

From the very beginning I’ve said that I will share this loss with the world because the world played its part in it.

The poems in this collection reflect how I had (have) to face the loss of a life that I had never seen coming.

Two poems from this collection have been shortlisted for the John Byrne Award.

there comes a time when the story has been told
and cannot be told again and again
but that doesn’t mean that it ceased to exist
that it ceased to put its hands around my neck
