Can you hear it?
That’s the sound.
The sound of my skin burning away,
Ebbing away, knees on the ground,
Bones laid bare, on my knees,
Towards you, dust and shade,
Here with me,
I pray with thunders in my mind,
To you, resurrect, don’t die, live, everything
Intertwined, in and out, up and down,
One word becomes another
And I dig for all the meanings
Trying to find my way out of the dirt
To breathe and understand
My hands full
Of the earth you left behind
That I’m trying to decipher and nurture
And love, always, no question, I’m slipping
Tripping, losing, hands full, hands on,
Your footsteps are gone, it’s dark
And I try to breathe and bring you back up
Patching the roots back together
Life with death, resuscitate,
What?
