Lebemann | a poem

did you have enough time to retrieve your memories

before you died

*

did you have enough time

to think of yourself

as a man

who’s about to die

*

or was the thought of death

a waste of time

*

you committed to action

to the collective breaking of your bones

what we all assembled

together

and apart

*

and we quiver

in fragments
