figurative | a poem

I started to draw women

I looked at them

thinned down

a piece of paper

watered down

barely existent

false

life-threatening

line after line

worn out

cut through

I looked at them

and thought

all right now, the fog has lifted

what do I truly see

who roams the premises of my spirit

who makes and leaves their true mark on the page

who is bold enough to take up the entire space in all colours

and command you to

l o o k

this is what I look like on the inside
