FIDO | a poem

I’ve felt you infiltrate me

before I was even born

*

my mother’s body told me the truth

*

and I lingered

ever crescent

in your unholy waters

*

and I learned all your faces by heart

as you picked me up

and held me in your arms

*

I knew who you were

but I didn’t have any sentence structure

*

you robbed women of their bodies

told the soul to come back in half an hour

*

and I grieve those who were conceived in contemptuous silence

the ancestry with us in my mother’s womb

*

ghosts know all apertures

he didn’t want to see

the embodiment

of what he did
