unmissverständlich | unequivocal | a poem against vampires

I am see-through

I am a child

My father tells me that I need thicker skin

I am pinched

I am alone

I speak and I’m told that I’m lying

truth disrupts comfort zones

truth is something to mould and twist and distort

unfinished, unacceptable, naked

they are putting clothes on the truth

they want me to make them comfortable

I need to fit in

I need to embody their expectations

smile, you owe us that

I tell you the truth and you walk away

you don’t live here

you live somewhere else

bubble to bubble to bubble

a conscience hurts

you want me to function

you’re not yourself today

oh, yes I am exactly myself today because I’m in pain

and this is what it looks like

what it feels like

too uncomfortable for you?
